Also called: Bitter Grass, Calea Ternifolia, Mexican Calea and Dream Herb.
TEA: High quality Calea is bitter. There are some options for making tea that can help bring the bitterness down. Start with 1 gm of Calea Leaf per 16 fl oz of water. Boil the leaf in the water for 1 minute, then remove it from the heat source and allow it to simmer for 3–7 minutes. In general, the less time the herbs are boiled or steeped, the fewer bitters will be released. From this point, the amount of leaf used and the amount of time boiled and steeped can be adjusted up or (likely) down to achieve the desired result. There is also the option of only steeping the leaf for a period of time. Bring the water to a boil, remove it from the heat source, and then add the Calea Leaf. Strong but good-flavored herbs like lavender or jasmine can be added, or the tea can be sweetened with honey.

Used in traditional medicine and ritual. Calea is also used in herbal remedies to relive insomnia and help lower anxiety. Some people believe it helps them have longer and more vivid dreams. More scientific study is needed to fully verify any of these claims.
Cautions: Calea is a bitter herb, similar in bitterness to wormwood, and if taken in too high a dosage, it could cause an upset stomach.
